The 2027 Canyon carries over with only minor updates, and GMC hasn’t confirmed whether one optional engine upgrade lands with the 2027 launch or waits for 2028. None of that points to a shortage. The Redesigned 2027 Sierra 1500 Is the Big News
The headline for 2027 is the fully redesigned Sierra 1500, arriving before the end of 2026 with new sixth generation small block V8 engines, an expanded Denali Ultimate trim, and a refreshed interior and exterior. It’s a genuinely new truck, not just a trim shuffle, and GMC is on track to have it in showrooms before Ford’s next generation F-150, which has been pushed back to 2028.
